BIOGRAPHY

Where others see destitution and despair, she sees hope, healing and happiness. Affectionately known by many as The Purpose Pusher, Dr. Teresa Moore knows firsthand what it’s like to deal with rejection, hurt and abuse. More importantly, she knows what it feels like to overcome that much and more. Strategic about helping others identify and change toxic behavior, her desire to see people happy, healed and whole shines brightly for all to see—in and outside the four walls of the church.

As a community agent of change, minister and mental health professional, Dr. Moore takes pride in sowing seeds of hope and love throughout Pontiac, Michigan and surrounding areas. As the owner and operator of Emages Counseling and Advocacy Services, she offers a variety of therapeutic services, including but not limited to individual, married and group counseling; assessments; and educational treatment services to clients and families in the time of crisis. She’s worked with the developmentally disabled and mentally challenged population for 26 years in various leadership roles. Holding both a Ph.D. in Religious Education, and a Master’s of Counseling, she prides herself on masterfully combining the Word of God with psychological processes and procedures to help her clients break free from past wounds and hurts that continue to hold them hostage.

In her work as an adjunct professor and internship coordinator, Dr. Moore uses a connective instructional style called “Living Life with your Hands Wide Open.” Serving in multiple capacities of help and customer service, she seeks to go above and beyond the normal call of duty—and encourages her students and mentors to do the same. Affiliated with numerous professional and community organizations, such as the American Counseling Association, Psychology Today, NOHS, HUS Club, the American Red Cross and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Dr. Moore is sure to bring life to any dead situation she encounters.

Having received the Professional Women’s Club Shero Award twice, her creative ability to deliver resources, encouragement and strength to men and women who are at the end of their rope leads them to find their God-given purpose and passion. Serving under multiple ministries at The River, New Wine Glory Ministries, it’s crystal clear that she not only loves God—but she also loves His people and wants what’s best for each and every one of them. Whether she’s hosting her quarterly “Write the Vision! Work the Plan!” vision board workshop, or she’s helping with the annual “7-Up Service,” attendees are sure to leave empowered and inspired to know they were born with greatness within—they simply need to tap into it!
